We sometimes are asked “can we just leave the critters up there”? In short, it wouldn’t be an advisable idea. When critters enter the premises of your home they are going to begin the process of making it their home as well. Critters left to their own devices in your house can lead to ceiling damage, electric problems and sanitary issues to name a few. So why do critters cause damage to properties?

In almost all cases the damage critters cause to properties is not a malicious act. Critters, just like people are creatures of habit. They will create areas to sleep, store food, use the latrine, and even give birth. When critters enter a property they usually hold little reserve in rearranging insulation, chewing through wood, electrical wires, or accidentally falling though your drop ceiling tiles and franticly running around the house. Their agenda isn’t to damage parts of your home, its more collateral damage from them creating their own. After they “settle in” they can start multiplying.

When anything living starts multiplying they start needing more resources. Which can mean expansion through the levels and or areas of the house. Remember, simple comforts we hold as humans like running water for washing our hands or flushing toilets are not utilized by critters. Over time the damages can compound.

A homes exterior creates a boundary between wildlife in your area and your living space. If a critter does break through your homes exterior and starts dwelling in your walls, attic, etc its safer for you and your home to be punctual with their removal. The less time the critter/s have to re arrange parts of your home the less time they have to damage your property. There are times when there is little to no evidence of critters being on site; however, if you hear, smell, or notice a critter on your property contacting a profession to inspect in a prompt manner can save your home from unnecessary damage.
